Archery Leaders In Training

 

This program is meant to give participants the opportunity to gain real world experience and leadership skills by working alongside staff in various programs held at our facility. The program will progress Leaders through various stages of responsibility, training, and certification to grow them into tomorrow’s leaders in our sport.

In this track, Leaders in Training will assist center coaches in archery programs including classes, camps, and other coaching opportunities. Leaders in Training will progress through three levels of competency to help them master program, coaching, and athlete development.

Level I: Assistants in Training

At this level, participants will be taught how to run a range safely, basic coaching principles, and basic equipment set up and maintenance. Under the supervision of staff coaches, participants will take active leadership roles by helping run activities, assist coaches with general instruction, and provide mentoring to other students. After gaining the necessary experience and proving sufficient competency, participants will have the option to graduate from this level by earning their USAA Level 1 Instructor Certification.

Level II: Instructors in Training

At this level, participants will be taught how to manage a program, develop lesson plans, and intermediate coaching principles. Participants will take active leadership roles by assisting in basic level programs. After gaining the necessary experience and proving sufficient competency, participants will have the option to graduate from this level by earning their USAA Level 2 Instructor Certification.

Level III: Coaches in Training

At this level, participants will be taught about individual athlete development, developing training plans, and advanced coaching principles. Participants will take active leadership roles by helping run intermediate level programs. After gaining the necessary experience and proving sufficient competency, participants will have the option to graduate from this level by earning their USAA Level 3 NTS Coach Certification.

 

Requirements

 

Students of this program must meet the following requirements before joining:

  • 14 years of age or older

  • Current Center for SafeSport Training
